ETA update

Over the past few weeks, our IT team has done everything possible to enable bulk ETA (Electronic Travel Authorisation) applications for drivers via our Legal Control App. Unfortunately, this has not been feasible so far. However, we continue to work hard to make this functionality available. In the meantime, it is important that you apply for the ETA yourself for each of your drivers.

📅 Please note: enforcement will begin on 2 April 2025.
Drivers without a valid ETA risk being denied entry to the UK. The processing time is estimated at 3 working days, so be sure to submit all applications well in advance.

What does this mean for you?
You are required to apply for the ETA yourself for your drivers. This can be done in two ways:

• Via the official ETA app:

• Online via the website:
https://apply-for-an-eta.homeoffice.gov.uk/apply/electronic-travel-authorisation/how-to-apply
If you choose the online option, click the button indicated by the arrow in the attached image.

During the application process, a verification code will be sent to the indicated email address.
This code must be entered within 10 minutes to complete the application.

Important information for online applications
Make sure you have the following information and files ready:

• Email address
• Colour copy of the driver’s passport
• Clear colour photo of the driver with a neutral background and no shadows
• Images must be in .jpg or .jpeg format and larger than 50KB
• Payment must be made using a credit card

 
🧍Note: The driver does not need to be physically present during the application.

If the app prompts to scan the driver’s face, you can select "Skip this step". In that case, make sure the previously mentioned photo is of high quality, with a neutral background and no shadows.
