COVID - The Netherlands also a high-risk area
Germany
The Netherlands is added by Germany to the list of high-risk areas. From Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at 00:00 hours, drivers have the obligation to register and test (see information below) before entering Germany.
Obligation to register
For persons who have been in high-risk areas in the 10 days prior to entering German territory, there is an obligation to register through this website. There is no exception to this registration requirement for truck drivers. There is an exception to the registration requirement (for everyone, including truck drivers) if the area with a high risk is crossed without a stay (transit traffic).
Obligation to test
Persons who have been in a high-risk area in the 10 days prior to entry into Germany must undergo a COVID-19 test (PCR test or rapid test according to WHO criteria) before entering Germany and present it to the responsible authorities upon request. Truck drivers are exempt from this requirement if they stay less than 72 hours in the risk area. For stays of more than 72 hours, drivers must undergo a COVID-19 test before entering Germany.
