It allows travelers to visit the UK for\u00a0<strong>short stays without a visa<\/strong>. An ETA is\u00a0<strong>valid for two years<\/strong>\u00a0or until the passport expires and can be used multiple times within this period.<\/p><ul><li data-end=\"74\" data-start=\"42\"><strong>Cost:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a310<\/li><li data-end=\"74\" data-start=\"42\"><strong>Validity:<\/strong>\u00a0Maximum\u00a0<strong>six months<\/strong>\u00a0per stay<\/li><li data-end=\"74\" data-start=\"42\"><strong>Application process:<\/strong>\u00a0Via the\u00a0<strong>UK ETA app<\/strong>\u00a0or the official UK government website<\/li><li data-end=\"74\" data-start=\"42\"><strong>Required information:<\/strong>\u00a0Passport details, contact information, and answers to security questions<\/li><li data-end=\"74\" data-start=\"42\"><strong>Decision-making:<\/strong>\u00a0Usually within a few hours, but the process can take up to\u00a0<strong>three working days<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ul><h3 data-end=\"74\" data-start=\"42\"><strong>Who needs an ETA?<\/strong><\/h3><p data-end=\"74\" data-start=\"42\">Starting <strong>today<\/strong>, all non-European travelers who do not require a visa for short stays must apply for an ETA before arriving in the UK. This applies to\u00a0<strong>tourists, business travelers, and \u2013 importantly \u2013 truck drivers.<\/strong><\/p><ul><li data-end=\"74\" data-start=\"42\"><strong>Exempt:<\/strong>\u00a0UK and Irish citizens<\/li><li data-end=\"74\" data-start=\"42\"><strong>European travelers:<\/strong>\u00a0ETA requirement starts\u00a0<strong>from March 5, 2025<\/strong>, enforcement from\u00a0<strong>April 2, 2025.<\/strong><\/li><\/ul><p data-end=\"74\" data-start=\"42\"><strong>Truck drivers are not exempt<\/strong>\u00a0from the ETA requirement. This means that\u00a0<strong>EU drivers must obtain an ETA before traveling to the UK<\/strong>.
