From Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at 00:00 hours, drivers have the obligation\u00a0<strong>to register and test<\/strong>\u00a0(see information below) before entering Germany.<\/p><p><strong>Obligation to register<\/strong><br \/>For persons who have been in high-risk areas in the 10 days prior to entering German territory, there is an obligation to register through\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.einreiseanmeldung.de\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u><strong>this website<\/strong><\/u><\/a>. There is no exception to this registration requirement for truck drivers. There is an exception to the registration requirement (for everyone, including truck drivers) if the area with a high risk is crossed without a stay (transit traffic).<\/p><p><strong>Obligation to test<\/strong><br \/>Persons who have been in a high-risk area in the 10 days prior to entry into Germany must undergo a COVID-19 test (PCR test or rapid test according to WHO criteria) before entering Germany and present it to the responsible authorities upon request. Truck drivers are exempt from this requirement if they stay less than 72 hours in the risk area. For stays of more than 72 hours, drivers must undergo a COVID-19 test before entering Germany.<\/p><p><em>Source: IRU<\/em><\/p><div><strong>United Kingdom<\/strong><\/div><div>From April 6, truck drivers who stay in the UK for more than 48 hours will be required to take a corona test. Only if they test negative can they continue their journey in the UK. Drivers who return to the European Union within two days are exempt from the testing obligation. If a driver cannot show a negative test result after 48 hours in the UK, they risk a fine of \u00a3 2,000.
