Attention: European Truck & Bus Inspections 9 - 15 February 2026

From Monday 9 February to Sunday 15 February 2026, the first coordinated Truck & Bus enforcement campaign of 2026 will take place in Europe. This action, organised by the European road police network ROADPOL, is the first of three week-long inspection campaigns planned for 2026.

Before you think this is just a normal control week, this is a Europe-wide, intensive enforcement action. Enforcement authorities will carry out inspections at the same time in almost all EU Member States, as well as in Switzerland, Serbia and Turkey.

Where can inspections be expected?

Inspections will be carried out, among others, at:

  • highways and main roads
  • rest areas
  • ports
  • border crossings
  • logistics hubs

The focus is on the main logistics routes and locations with high transport traffic.

What will be checked?

✔ Driving and rest times
✔ Correct use and proper functioning of the tachograph
✔ Load, weight, dimensions and load securing
✔ Technical condition of the vehicle
✔ Transport and company documentation
✔ Employment and posting status of the driver

This means that both road safety rules and social legislation will be thoroughly checked.

Experience from previous campaigns

  • Violations of driving and rest time rules
  • Tachograph-related errors or manipulation
  • Incomplete or missing documents such as Community licences or IMI declarations
  • Illegal cabotage activities
  • Technical defects on vehicles

In serious cases, this has led to the immediate immobilisation of vehicles until the problems were resolved.

Advance notice:

ROADPOL has announced that at least two more similar week-long campaigns are planned in 2026:
4 – 10 May 2026
16 – 22 November 2026
